Diego Rivera Acosta was a Mexican painter born on December 8, 1886, in Guanajuato, Mexico. He is known for his large frescos that depict the history and social issues of Mexico. Rivera was also a political activist and a member of the Mexican Communist Party. His murals often had political motifs and expressed his views on the injustices in Mexico's social and economic systems. Rivera studied art in Europe and was influenced by the works of Italian Renaissance painters. He had a tumultuous personal life and was known for his extramarital affairs and political controversies. Rivera died on November 24, 1957, in Mexico City, Mexico.
